Windows VISTA PPTP VPN
Setting up VPN access on Windows Vista machines is fairly simple. Below are step by step instruction to create the connection and use the service. The guide is for different versions of Vista: Basic, Premium, Business, and Ultimate editions.
1. Open the Control Panels on Windows Vista.

2. Go to the “Network and Internet” panel. Double click to open it.

3. Next, click on “Connect to a network.” as shown in the image

4. The next screen may not look quite like this. In any case, click on “Set up a connection or Network.”

5. On the next screen, click on “Connect to a workplace” then click “Next.”

6. Next click “Use my Internet connection (VPN).”

7. In the text box labelled ‘Internet address’ type the IP address provided in the welcome email. In the text box labelled ‘Destination name’ give it a name such as vpnaccounts.com. This is the name of the connection, and will show up in the “Connect to a network” screen when we’re done. Make sure that the checkbox labelled “Don’t connect now; just set it up so I can connect later” (hilighted in yellow) is checked. You can also put a check at “allow other people to use this connection” Then click the “Next” button.

8. Enter your username and password that was sent to you in the welcome email. You can aslo click “Remember this Password” to save your password as part of the connection. Click create!You will now see the following screen. See screenshot Click the “Close” button to return to the “Network and Internet” screen!


9. Now we double check everything. Click on “Connect to a network” again.

10. In the “Connect to a network” screen, you should see the connection that was set just up. Right–click for “Properties”

11. In the “Options” tab, make sure the checkbox labelled “Include Windows logon domain” (hilighted in green) is unchecked. Then click the “PPP Settings.” button. See screenshot In the “PPP Settings” dialog box, make sure the settings look like the ones in the image, then click the “OK” button .


12. Click the “Security” tab. Make sure the security tab has the same settings as in image and then click “Networking”.

13. Only the “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)” and “Client for Microsoft Networks” items need to be checked. If oher protcols are checked, you can uncheck them by clicking on the checkbox than press ok

14. Ready to use! but you may see this screen first. If you do, click ”Cancel”.

15. To connect to our vpn service, go to the Start buton and click “Connect To” Then click on the VPN connection you created and click “Connect”. Then click on the VPN connection you created and click “Connect”.
